ABOUT US

SOTA METAL FABRICATION LLC

OUR STORY

It all started back in 2004 when Steve started Chimney Doctors, providing the high-quality chimney service and repair to the metro area. His vision is to provide quality, transparent service, up to date educational resources, and peace of mind to homeowners, contractors, and the real estate industry.

Over the years, Steve has become very involved in the chimney and fireplace industry. His relationship with one very influential figure in the chimney industry set him on the sheet metal fabrication path and starting Sota Metal Fabrication by introducing
him to the solution to one of the biggest challenges in the chimney industry. The challenge was protecting the chimney from everything mother nature throws at it. The solution was the Full Coverage Chimney Cap (also known as the Outside Mount Cap).

Recently Sota Metal Fabrication has expanded its product line and started selling online. We are very excited about our new products and we have more in development.

I HATE WHITE RABBITS

WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE SAYING?

The question always comes up, why do we Hate White Rabbits?

The answer is, we don't, we love white rabbits and every other color of rabbits.

Some of us that grew up around campfires get it, but most still ask the same question.

Why do people say, “I Hate White Rabbits?".

It is an old campfire saying. When the campfire smoke gets in your eyes, you would jump on one foot and say I Hate White Rabbits three times as fast as possible. This would magically change the smoke's direction and move it away from you and toward your friend standing next to you.  So even if you know the saying and grew up with it, why do people say it?

Many years ago, Natives used to refer to the big clouds of smoke from their camp fires as "White Rabbits". As you can imagine the large clouds of smoke could resemble many things, but the rabbit was a very important animal at that time, not only for their meat and furs, but they helped the native people tell the changing of seasons based on their fur colors.

Over the decades, campfire smoke was still referred to as "White Rabbits", but as the tradition was lost, the phrase still stayed, until it was adapted as a way to change the direction of the smoke a.k.a. "White Rabbits" from the campfire. Let's face it, no matter how tough you are, campfire smoke in your eyes is the worst.  When you say, "I Hate White Rabbits" it means you hate the smoke in your face, and you want it gone. So, people began saying I Hate White Rabbits and the rest is history.

Don't believe it works? The next time campfire smoke gets in your eyes repeat " I Hate White Rabbits" three times while hopping on one foot and magically watch the smoke change direction.
